Slam Poem Assignment:
That Drip
The slick, slippery, game sickens you once again
Between the lies, the imaginary cries, and the many repeated but always continued goodbyes
It gets stronger and stronger
Pulling you deeper and deeper
Rolls you, controls you with waves sinking you farther from realities grasp
Three kids, big house, and nice car some would say you’ve come so far,
But its all just a costume
For the only place you should be is behind bars
Blood drips in evidence of your lies,
Your guilt,
Your slip,
That drip.
That drip started from your nose
Ended from their eyes
The blood and tears started multiplying year after year
It was a flood that drowned, overwhelmed, filling higher, fortifying, empowering the fight to be free from the fog of fury and fake identity of covering your many , multiple, mortifying mistakes
Did you stop at any point to realize how much time you stole, when you chose to let it all go,
The small, insignificant town was made big, boisterous, bad, beat,
Beat, beat
Beating, cheating, defeating, caused worry, wrath, waiting
With hopes of recovery with rehabilitation, come claims of imaginary accusations that come to life when you loose the light of reality and replace it with an illuminary superior guide
But when the devil of disaster destroys more than just her, she is Mammon, her instinct of protection portrays her buried, crumbled but still present strength showing security for those sheltered silent shy sacks of spiders, for when he turns the storm on them she is whipped, slaughtered, and dragged to shelter the only thing she has left
She gave that last goodbye
Put the priority on the pedestal, built the brave barrio blocking the bruises from ever returning.
Poem number 2:
Don’t Be Sad, Be Glad
When your eighteen you feel free, careless flying through life’s adventures as though there is so time, no limit no sky
She was shy, he was handsome,
She held herself quaintly, he held himself high
She was scarred but he wasn’t just another guy
She was young, sweet, and innocent to everything that he was about to introduce, infuse, and induce into her life
Within that small moment they knew,
But to be a typical love story it wasn’t that easy
He explained, the pain,
that to him this wasn’t just a game she needed to know what he couldn’t show
He said I’m dying, not with self pity, but with purity, not pathetically, but plainly
Despite the barrier of confusion, closing in on their immediate chemistry they fell crazily for one another
Months that felt like moments later the cancer was gaining, chemo was creeping closer, the once strong, sweet, secure man turned hollow and hard
Despite all odds, every medical opinion, and every secret doubtful thought he slayed the monster within
The next hospital visit he made was filled with cries, screams, shouts,
These were of entire differentiated context,
These were cries, screams, shouts of joy,
Celebration of the delivery of a baby girl,
Just yet another miraculous medical mystery,
But soon after the storm had past,
Wind had whirled up a new fight,
The villain hidden within was fed once again,
Stronger, stranger, hungrier than before
It ate away
Taking everything it could possibly take,
Before the miracle famil could grasp it, everything was fake
His breath, his leg, his life
He held himself that day just like he did the day they met,
She held herself quaintly, he held himself high,
She was scarred for she knew there would not be another guy,
She was older, bittersweet, and experienced to everything he introduced, infused, and induced into her
But in her eyes every moment of pain was worth it,
He was the love of her life,
He spoke quietly his last words strong and brave
Don’t be sad, be glad.

3D Printers; Future of Technology End For
Society?
3D printers have been a huge
advancement in technology in the last several years. You can virtually print
anything you can think of from a phone case, to a wrench. The printer cost a
reletivly low price of around 2000-3000 dollars. To make the products from the
printer you must buy the compound made out of a powder and liquid bond.
The machines are small, cheap, and downright amazing, so
whats the problem? 3D printers can make almost anything...which includes guns.
Because the compound material is made of plastic and can sit right in your own
living room anyone can produce one. On top of that the plastic can go undetected
through a metal detector. Not only do we now have a extreme danger of anyone owning a gun but there are so many other examples of damage these printers will create. Toy stores, tool stores, repair shops and so many more businesses and industries out of income and demand. The printers can take over society with 24 hours of you picking you design and clicking print. Are thes advancements in technology really putting us forward or setting us back?
